Hygiene requirements in a bakery include regular cleaning and disinfection of walls and ceilings. In the photo opposite, we can see that the old cladding, consisting of slats, led to a build-up of dirt and bacteria and the development of mould. That’s why the use of smooth, washable, waterproof and rot-proof materials, such as Hygi Panel®’s wall panels, is recommended.
Using Hygi Panel®’s large FRP ceiling panels, which are 1.2 metres wide and can be up to 6 metres long, and our hygienic wall-ceiling fittings, the owner of this bakery can easily clean the ceiling and save on cleaning products and water: covered with an anti-biofilm coating, the surface of our panels is quick and easy to clean.
Tiling has at least two drawbacks: the low impact resistance of ceramic materials – which, as a result, are easily chipped – and a large number of porous joints, which are breeding grounds for bacteria. In contrast, Hygi Panel®’s wall cladding is jointless, removing the possibility of contamination risks. What’s more, it’s four times faster to clean than tiles.
